How about an original race in Paris? This Saturday June 23, 2018 take part in a 2024-m race at nighttime to celebrate Olympic sport. Together, Parisians and everyone feeling like doing it are invited to the Pont Alexandre III for a symbolic course: 2024 meters towards the Eiffel Tower.
This unique race will be the perfect occasion to get Paris by night and celebrate sport on the occasion of the World Olympic Day. Equipped with a LED wristband and a fluorescent tee-shirt, let’s joyfully run for a bit more than 2 kilometers!
The course? Depart from the Pont Alexandre III, run through the Hôtel des Invalides then head towards the Eiffel Tower via Avenue de la Motte-Picquet.
To take part in the race, you have to register on the Olympic Day website from June 1, 2018! (website in French)
This race isn’t the only event scheduled for Paris Olympic Day. Shooting, climbing, cycling, karate, skate, badminton, fencing… All day long, over 1 million people are expected in the street of Paris.
For the launch, Mairie de Paris deputy entrusted with sport, tourism and Olympic Games, Jean-François Martins, French taekwondo practitioner Gwladys Espangue, pole vaulting expert Renaud Lavillenie, French Olympic and Sporting Committee chairman Denis Masseglia and Paris 2024 president Tony Estanguet.
