The #metoo movement is getting bigger and managed to raise awareness. Yet, women’s fight is far from being over and reminders are needed. Held by the Tu Vis! Tu Dis! [You live it! You say it!] charity fighting sexist and sexual assaults, Sine Qua Non Run is the first race to fight against sexual assaults.
For this edition - special because of the health context - the association proposes two races: an event race on theCanal de l'Ourcq on Saturday October 10, 2020, and a 100% digital race, so that we can all run together everywhere in France and around the globe. Start will be given at 6 p.m. (CET) at nightfall. This is at that moment women often feel threatened, when they go out or run.
These 6.5-km and 10-km races are taking place around the Canal de l'Ourcq between Pantin, Paris 19th arrondissement and Bobigny. And of course, it is opened to women as well as to men. It aims at showing our society can move towards more equality and mutual respect, as well as at starting talks and raising awareness about the physical and psychological effect of sexist and sexual assaults on women, the whole in a positive and energic atmosphere!
New this year: the digital run. A more and more common format since the coronavirus crisis broke out, enabling to run all over France and wherever you are in the world. From the moment you have a bib (in real life or digitally), you can sign up with a code to the Sine Qua Non Run page on a special app. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., you can all launch the application and run 6.5km or 10km. Even better: a motivation and awareness podcast will be live by the event's sponsor, Lucile Woodward.
Supported by the Ministry of Sports, the Mairie de Paris and UN Women, Sine Qua Non run will donate 100% of its profits to Fight For Dignity, La Maison des Femmes and PARLER charities accompanying women victim of violence in their administrative and legal processes as well as in their physical, mental and professional recovery.
This is will the occasion for all participants to do good and show their support to this global cause!
