This White Night 2019 truly is unique. In addition to the traditional art installations to see in the streets, the Mairie de Paris has planned a unique race, ‘La Grande Traversée’ on Saturday October 5, 2019 from 10 p.m.
In addition to be a night race, it will lead racers and art lovers to the heart of monuments closed to the public, in the night from 10 p.m. Picture it, running the 5th floor of the Centre Pompidou, a wing of the Louvre and the lounges of the Hôtel de Ville in a privileged situation.
To avoid the crowd effect of the main Parisian races, this race is open by registrations and two routes are planned.
La Grande Traversée 2019 routes:
Route 1: Concorde – Les Invalides – UNESCO – Eiffel Tower – Musée de l’Homme – Cité de l’architecture – Théâtre Chaillot – CESE – Musée Guimet – Théâtre des Champs-Elysées – Palais de la Découverte – Grand Palais – Concorde.
Route 2: Concorde – Musée des Arts Décoratifs – the Louvre – Centre Pompidou – Musée d’art et d’histoire du Judaïsme – Musée Picasso – Hôtel de Ville – Théâtre du Châtelet – Institut de France – Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris – Concorde
The start of the race will be continuous with four people leaving every 30 seconds. You don’t have to be a great race, you can actually walk but know that you’ll be overtaken.
The 4000 lucky racers will be able to rediscover Paris as they never did. This experience between culture and sport reminds us of the Run my City race that leads racers to the foot of the monuments!
A unique occasion to visit monuments in a privileged way! The first 30000 registrations are open since this Wednesday July 10: Registration.
