In the hustle and bustle of Parisian life, it's essential to take time for yourself. Fortunately, while Paris is a hyperactive city, it's also a capital where life is good, thanks to its many wellness spots. Today we've got a mega-trippy experience to share with you that will make you want to take some time out.
From July 1, 2021, Paris will welcome its first aquatic spa. The name? Clēmēns. Located on the side of the Latin Quarter, in an unassuming courtyard, this beautiful setting gives new life to an ancestral art of living that echoes the nearby Cluny thermal baths. Candlelight reveals an intimate setting. Beneath the stone vaults, you'll find a timeless wellness area, with 5 pools where you can enjoy a range of unique treatments.
Among them are 2 hot springs salted with Epsom salt. These are known as floating baths. You can choose to float alone or as a couple in a subdued atmosphere. You can even choose the lighting and soundtrack of your choice for a moment of well-being specially designed for you!
The other three pools are dedicated to wellness sessions combining massage and meditation. Here, you can take advantage of a range of unique services, including the signature treatment, the floating massage and three floating therapies to be enjoyed alone or as a duo: osteopathy,hypnosis and sophrology. With a team of midwives, osteopaths, sophrologists andhypnotherapists, the treatments can even be offered to pregnant women.
For our part, we let ourselves be tempted by the spa's signature treatment, the floating massage, and it was one of the most beautiful experiences we'd had in the capital. During our session, it was Bernadette who introduced us to this unique treatment inspired by Watsu.

The session begins with a discussion during which Bernadette asks us what we'd like to focus on most, while encouraging us to relax before placing floats around our legs. Then she gradually takes us along with her, gaining our trust. We let ourselves go as she gently undulates us in the warm water. We feel as light as a feather and enter a pleasant trance.
Sometimes we feel as if we're flying, sometimes we're being drawn into a graceful dance. From time to time, we even take refuge in a maternal embrace. Entrusted to Bernadette's care, we experience the most pleasurable of human feelings. We discover for the first time the meaning of "letting go".
It's a command we've often given ourselves without actually doing it. And this is where we really experience it, in that pleasant moment of well-being when nothing can touch us. It's like returning to our most tender years, those happy days when the wildest dreams seemed possible. Beyond the treatment itself, Bernadette's expertise is a true moment of comfort. We'll come away from this experience more rested than we've been in a long time.
Spa Clēmēns also offers treatments in three individual cabins. You can enjoy a made-to-measure massage or the Renata Franca method of detox treatments.
