Grand Prix d’Amérique is THE horse race you shouldn’t miss at Vincennes – Hippodrome de Paris. Scheduled on Sunday January 28, 2018, this race brings together 18 of the best harness racers in a true show American way including a parade of 150 Harley Davidsons, cheerleaders, acrobats and many entertainments yet to come…

True sporting event devoted to all riding lovers, Grand Prix d’Amérique is much more than a harness racing. Held every year on the last Sunday of January, the race is a genuine show American way gathering 40,000 enthusiasts, amateurs and of course professionals meeting in Vincennes – hippodrome de Paris.

The day is just incredible: in addition to attend a race featuring the world best thoroughbreds, we discover American shows with a great American parade including 450 artists, dance, acrobatics, vaulting, followed by a cheerleaders show and over 150 Harley Davidsons, please!

This Sunday January 28, 2018, horses will run for 2,700-m for spectators’ greatest happiness. Indeed, this Grand Prix d’Amérique is reserved for horses from 4 to 10 years old, excluding geldings, who won at least €180,000 for the 6 years old horses, €250,000 for the 7 to 10 (including €16,000 in harness racing the previous year – conditions 2010), facing off for a common cause, Princesse Margot, an association that will receive the whole revenues of the admission tickets and the benefits of the shirts sold for this Grand Prix.

Prix d’Amérique 2018 programming:

  • 11 a.m.: Doors opening
    40,000 spectators are expected to come along and share in the all the emotions of a Grand Prix at the Hippodrome.

  • 1 p.m.: Opening American-style parade
    A grand, American-style show on the Vincennes racetrack featuring more than 450 artists, 150 Harley Davidsons and Titan robot, a cheerleader show, and a parade with the 18 drivers who are taking part in the Grand Prix d’Amérique.

  • 1:50 p.m.: First Race
    There are 10 races on the program for this meeting, including the finale of the new EPIQE SERIES Championship bringing together the greatest trot and gallop races.

  • 3:30 p.m.: Spears Carousel Show
    Spears Carousel Show including 25 riders wearing a helmet with horse hair and bearing saber and spears, accompanied by 30 musicians of the French Republican Guard on the racetrack of Vincennes – Hippodrome de Paris. Enjoy the traditional uniform and the reputation of the French Republican guard.

  • 4 p.m.: Official Parade
    Presentation and procession of the competitors on the starting line of the 97th Grand Prix d’Amérique.

  • 4:05 p.m.: Grand Prix d’Amérique
    The launch of the race with 18 competitors on the 2,700-m track. The winner will be crowned World Champion for 2018.

  • 4:10 p.m.: Lap of honor
    A lap of honor from the 2018 World Champion.
    Official podium for the Grand Prix d’Amérique 2018.

Note that a collector shirt of this day signed IRO will be on sale for €25. In limited edition, this creation will be the occasion to support Princesse Margot while keeping a souvenir of the race.
