20km de Paris will not take place in 2020 in Paris. 20 km de Paris organizing committee chose this Friday June 19 to cancel the 42nd edition of the race that was planned on October 11, 2020 because of uncertainties around the coronavirus epidemic and the health situation.
In a press release, organizers explain the reasons behind such a decision: a "hardly quantifiable level of registrations because of the many races reported to Fall" such as Paris Half-Marathon and Paris Marathon, or the Paris EcoTrail - and most of all, especially because of "legitimate prudence from most of runners used to run the 20 km de Paris".

In addition to cancelations of other races or the health context, they justify their decision because "companie's likely limited budgets" which direct consequences are the creation of smaller groups at the departure line of the race. According to them, "the misreading of the health situation in October and the specific measures to implement" are not encouraging to sustain the event, so are the competent authorities (Paris city hall, prefecture) who "cannot give an answer as they lack visibility".
