Ancienne forteresse médiévale, il est peu à peu transformé en demeure de plaisance et agrémenté d’élégants décors par ses illustres propriétaires : la famille d’Angennes, les Toulouse-Penthièvre, Louis XVI, Napoléon Ier ou encore nos présidents de la République.
