How about making our taste buds travels to the vineyards for this Christmas 2019? This year, Dominique Costa, also known as The Peninsula Paris pastry chef, highlights the French know-how and offers us to taste his “Vigne Enchantée”: a trompe-l’oeil creation that is a nod to Pinot Noir and the sparkling vintage The Peninsula Paris – Deutz.
This yule log is made of vine based on almond praline candy mixed to crunchy dark chocolate and vanilla mix, the whole coated with a fine glace. We gladly crack open this envelop to be captivated by the delicious cocoa likely to delight children and adults.
The base of the yule log itself is like a wooden champagne bow. This box is entirely made of Dulcey chocolate. Under the crunchy chocolate glaze, we have a light gingerbread cake, delicious chunks of pear with Pinot noir enhanced by a light vanilla mousse and last but definitely not least, a crunchy caramelized almond mix to elevate the flavors.
Don’t worry, we don’t feel like we’re drinking a glass of wine, but rather enjoying a delicious mix of spices, fresh pear with Pinot twists. A very delicate blend likely to delight all generations. Anyway, this is an original creation likely to cause a sensation at your table for the Holidays.
Note that the yule log is made in limited edition (150 samples) and available in pre-sale from December 1. You can get it from December 16 to 31, 2019. It serves 6 to 8 foodies and is available for €118 – to book at least 48 hours in advance.
