"L'écorce": that's the name of the sumptuous 2017 edition of the Yule log, imagined by two-starred Chef Jérôme Banctel and his Pastry Chef Marc Lecomte for Hôtel La Réserve Paris.

For this 2017 holiday season,Hotel La Réserve Paris is offering an incredible trompe l'oeil Yule log.

Imagined by two-starred Chef Jérôme Banctel and his Pastry Chef Marc Lecomte, this creation is entitled"L'Ecorce" and draws its inspiration from the famous chestnut trees on Avenue Gabriel, but also from the logs blazing in the hotel's many fireplaces.

In terms of flavor, the bark is made from artistically sculpted Criollo chocolate, and the heart of the log is a sublime golden filling featuring a marriage of light vanilla mousse, slivers of marron glacé, soft chestnut cookie, and subtle inserts of caramelized pear and Merisier syrup.

Note that this 2017 Christmas log is available from December 15 to 24, 2017, as a limited edition.
