Ideally set on the Place de la Madeleine, Grand Café Fauchon is the place to be for a lunch, a teatime, Glam’Hours for the aperitif and very soon, a brunch.

Indeed, after a shopping spree at Printemps or a walk in the Jardin des Tuileries, let’s relax and satisfy our taste buds with Chef Frederic Claudel’s dishes and François Daubinet’s pastries.

In the place, French ingredients are given pride of place. Regional and seasonal produces too. Grand Café Fauchon offers a cuisine aiming at being tasty and delicious, a true high-range bistro cuisine looking for sparkling eyes.

In terms of decoration, we obviously have Fauchon colors, pink and black being everywhere. Big central bar, velvet chairs and beautiful lamps create a very glamorous vibe.

The café also features a Jardin d’été [Summer Garden] where you can enjoy the hotel breakfast, but you can now have lunch facing a beautiful and historic fountain.

French and smoked salmons, riso like a risotto, razor clams and squid carpaccio and cloud of shells, frog legs, black rice, horseradish foam as well as the best hams from here and elsewhere: Brittany, Sardinia, Corsica… are among the offerings available to you.

When we came, we discovered the organic soft-boiled egg served with pan-fried ceps and herbs and toasted bread foam, the whole accompanied by a razor clam riso and squid carpaccio with shell foam. An egg with a runny yolk, well-seasoned ceps and a perfectly-cooked risotto tasting like the sea, so delicious.

We continued with the champagne-broiled scallops, served with pumpkin and chestnut. Well-fried scallops, crispy buckwheat to enhance the dish, we love it.

We obviously end with a pastry. Paris-Brest, chocolate éclair, chestnut-blackcurrant mille-feuille, Carrémenchoc, seasonal tart and even Bisou Bisous, the choice is hard to make.

Well, we fall for the Mille-Feuille (light and crispy) and the iconic Bisou Bisou with surprising flavors, yummy! We also wrap it up with a small macaron and a glass of champagne. We’re in heaven!
