Sartrouville had planned to celebrate its national holiday on July 13 and 14, 2023, with fireworks and a popular ball. The fireworks have been cancelled "for safety reasons".

Sartrouville's July 13 and 14 celebrations have been scaled back. The town's website states: " For safety reasons, the town regrets to announce thecancellation of the traditional fireworks display on July 13.See you at 2 p.m. in the Parc du Dispensaire for the entertainment." This cancellation has been decided in view of the " urban violence in France and the Ile-de-France region ". The family events on July 13 and the ball on July 14 have been maintained.

Like every year, Sartrouville is decked out in its finest lights to celebrate July 14th. Not one, but two days of festivities are planned in this town in the Yvelines region (78). A dazzling evening of fireworks, an opportunity to get together and celebrate the Fête Nationale. Every year, we immerse ourselves in it with renewed wonder.

July 14th has become the emblematic date of France's Fête Nationale, a day of celebration that has its roots in the country's history.July 14, 1789 is the date marking the storming of the Bastille, a major event in the French Revolution. This royal prison, symbol of the absolutism of the Ancien Régime, was stormed by the people of Paris. This marked the beginning of an unprecedented political and social upheaval in France, and the date was chosen as a symbol of the struggle against oppression.

Many towns in the Île-de-France region celebrate the Fête Nationale with a variety of events, either on July 13 or 14, or both! But in Sartrouville, we like to have fun! That's why we're extending our Fête Nationale celebrations over two days.
