Due to the Coronavirus epidemic, the Musée d’Orsay has announced it will be closed starting Friday October 30, 2020 and until further notice.

Due to the Coronavirus epidemic striking in France and in the world, and following the implementation of a new lockdown, the musée d'Orsay is shutting down starting this Friday October 30, 2020 and until December 1, 2020 at the earliest.

A hard blow for museums as they have already suffered from the lack of visitors. Even though the cultural life in Paris was growing stronger these past few months, this new lockdown sounds the death knell to the art activity. Ongoing and upcoming exhibitions are sustained until futher notice.

You will have to wait for a few weeks before heading back to the Aubrey BeardsleyLéon Spilliaert and The Origins of the World exhibitions.

Other museums are also shutting down such as the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles, the Musée Delacroix, the Atelier des Lumières, the Musée du Quai Branly and even the Musée de l'Orangerie.
