Can you change your place of quarantine? As the new lockdown is implemented until December 1, 2020, many French people wish to move out of their quarantine location to go to their families', live in a bigger accomodation or go back to their main homes. Here is what the government says on that matter.

Since the new national lockdown has been called and since Fall break is over, citizens have had to choose a self-isolation accomodation. But can you move out? The government is very clear on the metter: you shlal not move out during lockdown if you can.

"No, your quarantine location shall not change", one can read on the government's website yet adding that "exceptions are allowed for some special grounds as you have to join your main accomodation (end of leasing, taking care of vulnerable people or pets, looking after children, and so on)".

If you happen to find yourself in one of these situations, then "you must get your derogatory trip certificate and your ID" the government says..

Therefore, noone can move or change of quarantine place in France excluding:

  • End of leasing
  • Taking care of vulnerable people or pets
  • Children care, especially for parents who share custody of their children
  • Special treatments for health matter

It is not possible to change of confinement place, even though it’s extended.
