For a few weeks now, the Covid-19-related health situation is deteriorating again in France, leading to a new increase in hospitalization toll. According to the latest Santé Publique France data, as of January 3, 2022, the country reports 19,606 Covid-19 sick at the hospital, namely 563 more than the day before.
Furthermore, 3,654 Covid-19 sick are still in ICUs, 82 more than the day before. For the record, 2,294 people infected by Covid-19 were in ICUs as of September 1: a toll exceeded long ago.
As for new contaminations, according to Santé Publique France data the epidemic is surging strongly again since 67,461 new infections have been reported over the past 24 hours, namely an extra 122% cases than the week before. Furthermore, over the past 24 hours, 272 deaths have been reported.
