The hospital situation is still thoroughly monitored. As the number of new contaminations skyrocketed this summer in France because of the spread of the Delta variant, the new Covid-19 case toll decreased until October, but the curve is going up again and it seems to be corroborated in hospitals.
For a few weeks now, the Covid-19-related health situation is deteriorating again in France, leading to a new increase in hospitalization toll. According to the latest Santé Publique France data, as of November 30, 2021, the country reports 10,249 Covid-19 sick at the hospital, namely 389 more than the day before. These worrying data are thoroughly monitores by the health authorities. "The situation is deteriorating against the epidemic", Health Minister Olivier Véran told the National Assembly. It "keeps showing a rise in the spread of the virus nationally with an average number of daily contaminations over 30,000 and if this trend continues to be over 60% per week, it could exceed the peak of the 3rd wave by the end of the week", he added.
Furthermore, 1,824 Covid-19 sick are still in ICUs, against 1,749 the day before. For the record, 2,294 people infected by Covid-19 were in ICUs as of September 1. Furthermore, 114 extra deaths have been reported over the past 24 hours.
As for new contaminations, according to Santé Publique France data the epidemic is surging strongly again since 47,000 new infections have been reported over the past 24 hours.
