So, when will herd immunity be reached in the country? This Monday August 2, 2021, invited on RTL, Alain Fischer – head of the Vaccinal Strategy Board – thinks this goal can be reached “likely from the beginning of Fall”.

We are faced with a virus variant, the famous Delta variant, which is very contagious and requires energic vaccination measure to reach this herd immunity”, the immunology professor states. At this stage, “it is possible” to reach 90% herd immunity in France “likely from the beginning of Fall”, he thinks.

But it is necessary to convince indecisive people. “Doses of vaccine are here, vaccinators are here as well, we need to finish convincing those who have not been vaccinated so far, to go and get vaccinated”, Fischer insisted on.
