As the Covid-19 sick toll at the hospital keeps on growing in France, infectious disease specialist Odile Launay claims: “There is an epidemic of unvaccinated at the hospital”.

Because of the spread of the Delta variant in France, the toll of new coronavirus contaminations increases again. And the hospitalized Covid-19 sick toll increases. Over the past hours, the “white scheme” has been activated in Corsica and will be in the PACA area to face the epidemic resurgence.

But then, who are people hospitalized and sick checked in ICU? Are they vaccinated or not? Paris Cochin hospital infectious disease specialist Odile Launay claims: “There is an epidemic of unvaccinated at the hospital. The very big majority of hospitalized people are not vaccinated”, she said this Wednesday August 4, 2021 on Radio Classique.

Statements confirmed this August 4 by Marseille La Timone hospital head of ICU Nicolas Bruder, invited on Europe 1. As for hospital admissions, “we have no patient vaccinated in an effective way. We have had a few patients given a first dose, but we know this is not enough”, he said. Furthermore, the average age of people in ICU dramatically decreased: “Many people in their thirties. What we experienced in an exceptional fashion during the previous waves”, Bruder said.

A few days ago already, a DREES study showed that 85% of patients hospitalized are not vaccinated.
