Always more French are getting vaccinated against Covid-19. In France, the implementation of the health pass and the end of free tests encouraged the population to get vaccinated. As of Thursday January 20, 2022, CovidTracker.fr website stated 81.0% of the French population have been given one dose of vaccine.
Furthermore, Santé Publique France data show an encouraging result as for the number of French fully vaccinated. As of January 20, 79.7% of the French population have been given the doses required and now enjoy full vaccination. 59.4% of the French have been given a booster shot.
Why reaching a threshold of 80% of French given the first injection? Simply because it is the percentage of the population given by experts and epidemiologists to reach herd immunity. But, CovidTracker.fr cautiously specifies “an 80% vaccination rate does not necessarily enable to reach herd immunity”. So far, the fight against the epidemic keeps going and is not about to end.
