The vaccine is really effective against Covid and coronavirus variants… This is what a new study carried out by the CDC – or Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – has found in a study released in pre-print on MedXRiv this late August and shared this past September 11 by our peers from CNN, explaining “vaccination works and will protect us from the severe complications of Covid-19”. The study has focused on the effectiveness of vaccine on the Delta variant crystallizing all concerns.
What was the study about? The CDC relied on a sample including 600,000 cases from 13 states. A sample studied between April and mid-July 2021, as the authors of the pre-print explain. Out of these 600,000 individuals, searchers have noticed that according to statistics, unvaccinated people were 11 times more likely to die of Covid and 10 times more likely to get hospitalized for severe infection in comparison to vaccinated people.
As for the effectiveness of the vaccines, the CDC have also noticed Moderna was 95% effective against Delta variant-caused hospitalizations. Followed by the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine (80%) and the Johnson & Johnson (60%). A study released the day following Joe Biden’s address announcing the extension of vaccination to the two thirds of the American employees. For the record, 75 million Americans are still not vaccinated as the epidemic is surging again with over 160,000 cases a day, according to director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease Dr. Anthony Fauci.
