Calling all lovers of chocolate and cakes, as well as divine dishes created by Maxime Frédéric. For a month, from April 1 to 30, 2022, the Cheval Blanc spoils us with a genuine chocolate shop: an Easter pop-up store to find and enjoy incredible creations.
On the occasion, the Cheval Blanc replaces the hotel tearoom’s Limbar’s bakery offer to serve a whole range of creations – sweet and savory – focusing on chocolate. On the menu, the chef’s signature cakes and new creations.
First of all, discover Maxime Frédéric’s magnificent Easter egg, an incredible merry-go-round egg that actually spins for real! Built with a clever mechanism to make the merry-go-round horses dance, this 40cm (15.74inch) creation shows the same details as the building’s architecture, rounded and extended to cover the chocolate shell.
This egg is made with a mix of 3 cocoas: Peruvian milk chocolate for biscuity and slightly spicy flavors, Madagascan dark chocolate for a bit of sourness and a touch of white chocolate for the milky touch. In other words, great flavors to delight children and adults. Note the Easter egg is available to order and collect from April 15 to 17, 2022 (€85, limited in 150 samples).
Among the creations to buy, the “Oeufs de la ferme” coming in many colors. Get the gorgeous box of 6 eggs with natural tints. And surprise, the eggs are not empty but filled with creamy praline flavored with pistachio, vanilla-buckwheat, coconut, peanut, hazelnut and cocoa.
Get the Ciflorette chocolate-strawberry bar with fruity ganache, the origami horse and the chef’s famous signature pain au chocolat.
During this chocolate-filled month, the menu is thought over and the cart displays Maxime Frédéric’s team childhood cakes, but cocoa version. On the menu: chocolate flan, marble cake, sugar and chocolate pie, milk chocolate cheese cake, and the famous chocolate Annécien cake…
The teatime is also revisited for Easter. The famous afternoon tea, served in 3 courses, includes sweet and savory petits fours – still based on chocolate – served on the famous leaf-tier-tray. Beautifully finish with the plated chocolate dessert: “comme le douillon à la poire”, a baking specialty echoing the chef’s first love that is based on roasted pear in puff pastry and covered in chocolate.
So, ready to look at life through chocolate-tinted glasses?
