Feel like visiting a historic monument in Paris? For European Heritage Days on Saturday September 19 and Sunday 20, 2020, the Conciergerie provides free tours to discover this building looking like a fortified castle and that’s part of Paris history. A remarkable testimony of the civil architecture from the 14th century likely to delight families and groups of friends. And good news, children from 7 years old can enjoy workshops.
For European Heritage Days 2020, the Conciergerie provides us with self-guided and free tours on Saturday September 19 and Sunday 20, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.. This part of the Palais de la Cité Médiévale (the former living place of the Kings of France) was transformed into a prison during the French Revolution. Now, only remain the Guards room and the Great Hall built under Philippe IV’s reign, as well as the kitchen from John the First’s reign, still in their original state. As for the cells, visitors can discover the one where Queen Marie-Antoinette was locked before she was beheaded.
Children from 7 years old can take part in the "Patrimoines en poésie" workshop. Meet on Saturday September 19 and Sunday 20, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for poetry workshop with the story lab, after a family tour of the medieval parts of the Conciergerie. Careful, to participate, you must sign up first.
