European Heritage Days 2017 at Paris Galeries Lafayette

Is there anything better than Galeries Lafayette to embody Paris heritage? On the occasion of European Heritage Days 2017, this department store opens its doors for a visit mixing history, architecture and anecdotes.

For the seventh year in a row, the emblematic store of Boulevard Haussmann opens its doors on European Heritage Days. On September 16-17, 2017, discover the story of Galeries Lafayette from its creation back in 1894 to nowadays. A fun and interactive tour takes you to the universe of Parisian department stores. Secrets of this emblematic monument are also revealed from the first floor to the panoramic terrace.

The 45-minute long visits are both in French and in English. They leave every 10 to 20 minutes from the store’s Porte Auber. Visits in French are not subjected to reservation but English ones are.

As this year’s theme is focused on youth, educational activities and tools dedicated to children are to be discover throughout the store. Thanks to colorful papers, young people from 4 to 12 years old can also get introduced to the glass window of Galeries Lafayette cupola. A game booklet is also given to every child older than 6 years old and taking part in the visit.

In short, here is a visit you should not miss and that is likely to please children and adults!
