Unmissable elements of the French heritage, churches have obviously answered the call for the 36th edition of European Heritage Days, and so did the Church of Saint-Marguerite, opening on September 21 and 22, 2019. Set between Charonne and Ledru-Rollin, this religious building from the 11th arrondissement is widely unknown while it’s worth the trip!
As a matter of fact, its chapel is specially decorated with an exceptional trompe l’oeil by Brunetti while the many paintings represent the life of Saint Vincent de Paul. By the way, several famous tombs are at Saint-Marguerite such as the one of assumed Louis XVII (whose heart has been transferred to the Saint-Denis Basilica).
All along the weekend, you’re invited to discover this church with commented tours on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. as well as on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.. Let’s go, friends, shall we?
