Discover economic sciences in an original fashion… This is what Citéco – the City of Economy offers for the 37th edition of European Heritage Days on Saturday September 19 and Sunday 20, 2020 for self-guided tours and micro-conferences with lecturers. An original outing perfectly matching the theme of this 37th edition of European Heritage Days: "Heritage and education: learning for life!". Thus, meet in Paris 17th arrondissement on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to get this precious knowledge!
Open in June 2019 after nine years of work, the Cité de l’Economie is the first European museum devoted to economy. Aiming at explaining the notions and mechanisms of this area to curious people – no matter if they’re novices or experts – Citéco is set within the hôtel Gaillard, a neo-Renaissance building from the late 19th century, that used to be a branch of Banque de France from 1922 to 2006.
Start by visiting the building and then choose the economic topic you are the most interested in and talk about it with a lecturer. 15 minutes of debate. Who knows, perhaps will you get the very essence of neo-liberalism! Well, at least, this is worth the try!
