Austria as seen through arts… For the 39th edition of European Heritage Days, the Austrian Embassy invites you to discover the Hotel de Chézelles, the headquarters of the Embassy in Paris, on Saturday September 17, 2022. You are invited to walk freely from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to the historic lounges and the garden of the Embassy.
But let us talk about history, shall we? The origins of the building go all the way back to the 18th century. The inner courtyard is said to have been partially elevated in 1894 under the direction of architect Louis Parent. Several owners have been following one another since the second part of the 19th century including the family of the Vicomtes de Chézelles. By the notarial decree from December 22, 1949, the Republic of Austria becomes the owner of the building and the field.
Careful: the Austrian Embassy does only take part on European Heritage Days on Saturday September 17. To make sure you do not miss this exclusive tour, save the date. On Sunday, you will have all your time to enjoy the other exceptional openings provided in Paris this weekend.
Shall we make the best of European Heritage Days to discover this architectural jewel… Let us go, friends!
