For the Journées du Patrimoine 2023, the Lafayette Anticipations Foundation is opening its doors and inviting visitors to discover its contemporary art collections on September 16 and 17, to enjoy an unusual festival.

For this latest edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, Lafayette Anticipations, the Galeries Lafayette corporate foundation created in October 2013, is opening its doors to you free of charge. This is your chance to discover, on the 875m² of exhibition space, singular contemporary works that are accessible to all audiences. Indeed, the foundation's primary aim is to bring the best of contemporary creation to the fore and within the reach of as many people as possible.

The Lafayette Anticipations Foundation is also a multi-disciplinary laboratory for the visual arts, dance, music and performance. Indeed, in addition to its exhibition space, the foundation is also a place of production and support for contemporary creation.

Program for Journées du Patrimoine 2023 at Lafayette Anticipations in Paris :

  • Human Scale Festival
    September 16th and 17th

For this new edition, the Échelle Humaine festival lets itself be won over by the movements of artists, researchers, students and the public, who take over Lafayette Anticipations and unveil its spaces of play, porosities and mutations.

Over the course of a weekend, the festival brings together a wide range of encounters: performances, installations, workshops, films, conversations, siestas, parties - all opportunities to experience the relationships that move us and question their transformations. Performer Ivan Cheng has conceived a new piece, Clarities, which troubles the use of language, genres and the spectacular. In an in situ version of Apocalypso, Luara Raio and Acauã El Bandide Sereia invoke buried images; their rituals reveal, stratum by stratum, the state of a burning earth. Alix Boillot proposes a potential Scenography, an island of abstract and sensitive forms that activations, glances and words never cease to modify. Paul Maheke's new performance L'Origine de la mort explores the dialogue between dance, sound and identity, drawing on stories from roller rink culture and the vampire. Choreographer Taos Bertrand has designed a workshop with students from the Beaux-Arts de Paris, who will share their research at the end of the festival. An ephemeral reading room, designed by Tai Shani, welcomes visitors for times of rest and discovery; a film cycle, collective practices and public meetings occupy the Foundation's floors - all to think and live together the movements of the present.

    Festival in partnership with:
Le Festival d'Automne à Paris ; La Fondation Calouste Gulbenkian ; Les Beaux-Arts de Paris, Chaire "Troubles, dissidences et esthétiques" ; Le Festival Jerk Off
