For European Heritage Days in Paris, the Tuileries garden shows you all about its history. Guided tours expect you on Saturday September 18, 2021.

European Heritage Days 2021 in Paris are the occasion to celebrate the most emblematic treasures in town in a new light. Among them, the famous Tuileries garden. Walk with your family and join one of the guided tours held all day long. It opens to children from 7 years old. Meet on Saturday September 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. for a playful one-hour tour.

Listed as historic monument and listed as UNESCO World Heritage, the Tuileries Garden is the oldest French formal garden in Paris. It’s actually where used to lay the now-disappeared Palais des Tuileries. Today, it’s one of the most legendary places in Paris and lives all year round to the rhythm of celebrations and other events.

This edition 2021 of European Heritage Days revolves around Heritage for all. So, to stick to the theme, the Tuileries Garden offers you to show its unique past with guided tours focusing on sculpted and sculpting women.

"Inhabited with gods and nymphs made of marble, the Tuileries garden gives to the eyes of passersby many figures of sculpted women. They tell stories of dominated or dominating women, sweet or crual, stories sometimes uncommon, mostly drawn from the Greek-Roman mythology. But other sculptures, more recent, are made by women who with persistence managed to stand out in a mostly male-leading universe", the Louvre explains on the website.

You can also take part in guided tours of the garden with receptionists and security officers of the Louvre on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Note the number of tickets is limited because of the ongoing health guidelines. Tours are subject to be canceled in the event of bad weather.

For the record, these tours are free of charge and do not require prior booking. Here we go!
