For the 38th European Heritage Days, let us run to the Institut national d’histoire de l’art (or National Institute for Art History) providing you with tours and other entertainments all weekend long on September 18 and 19, 2021. Renovated by architect Henri Labrouste in the 19th century, the former imperial library invites you to discover its two spaces: the Labrouste room and the Colbert gallery.
Genuine architectural masterpiece, the place listed as historical monument since 1983 has reopened in 2016 after years of renovations… Usually reserved to students and searchers in the art history holding a reading card, its access is available to you for these two days of visit.
All weekend long, you can access the collections and the building for free, as well as attend several conferences provided by university lecturers, take part in contests and entertainments for the entire family, or even reading sessions for the youngest. Lecturers will answer all your questions about the history of art, heritage, research and its issues. This is also the occasion to visit one of the most libraries in Paris.
Shall we go, friends?
