Housing the Embassy of Ireland, the Hotel de Breteuil may not be as green as the Anglo-Saxon country, but it has a history as rich as the land! To discover it and be immerged in Irish culture, come and visit this embassy set in Paris 16th arrondissement, on September 17 and 18, 2022, for the 39th European Heritage Days.
Built in 1892 by architect Ernest Sanson for the Marquis of Breteuil, this private mansion is inspired by the Pavillon de Hanovre and decorated with woodworks from Louis XV’s reign. The building was passed on from families to families, housing great entrepreneurs and then the Princess of Faucigny-Lucinge, before becoming the headquarters of the State Secretariat during WWII.
European Heritage Days are the occasion to discover this historic building and enjoy cultural entertainments provided by the Embassy shining a light on Irish History and Arts.
A fascinating program for a great tour! For European Heritage Days, do not miss tours in churches and discover historic monuments in Paris and Île-de-France either.
