For European Heritage Days 2020, the Cité de l’Architecture has concocted us a playful visit leading us through the aisles of this museum devoted to the architectural heritage in the Cité Chaillot. Meet on Saturday September 19 and Sunday 20, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for many workshops and guided tours for the entire family. And the good deal is that it is free of charge!
Since 2007, the Cité de l’Architecture highlights a wonderful collection of models, fortified city maps, pieces of forgotten buildings, stained-glass windows and the monument itself, vestige of the Musée de Sculpture Comparée open in 1882.
Among the major pieces of the collection, we have the painted ceiling of the cupola from the Cathédrale de Cahors (14th century), a model of Notre-Dame de Paris, as well as the recreation to scale 1 of one of the dwelling unit from the Cité Radieuse built by Le Corbusier in Marseilles in 1952 and the model of the Gare du Nord.
