For European Heritage Days 2019, Le Grand Rex offers you to visit for free the magical universe of the 7th Art and what happens behind the scenes of the greatest movie theater in Europe built in 1932 on the Grands Boulevards in Paris.
More than a simple cinema venue, Le Grand Rex is an emblematic place for the 7th art in Europe. Built in the early 1930’s, it welcomes since then the greatest movie stars in the world. It’s now listed “historic monument” especially thanks to its Grande Salle – the biggest in Europe – that can wleocme up to 2750 viewers!
So, for European Heritage Days, 30-minute guided tours are available on September 21 and 22, 2019 taking you backstage with anecdotes about the construction of the venue in the 1930’s, as well as the incredible shows that took place there. To take part in, no registration needed, you only have to show up at the reception desk! Meet from 9 a.m. to noon, then 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Then, for the most curious ones, head to Rex Studio for an audio-guided tour! This imaginary journey to the backstage of a movie studio makes you discover the creation of a movie, from the set to the last clap (where a surprise expects you!), walking by the screening booth or the special effects room. In other words, a true interactive tour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.!
