This year, European Heritage Days land on Saturday September 17 and Sunday 18, 2022 in Paris and Île-de-France, and are likely to make you enjoy two exceptional days with a rich and exclusive program.

If you are into politics, head to the National Assembly. For European Heritage Days, the institution opens again to take you behind the scenes of the power and the national heritage kept in this high place of power in France.

On the menu? Self-guided tours of the Palais Bourbon, the Hôtel de Lassay and the gardens on September 17 and 18, 2022. But careful, note admisison will be granted only upon prior registration. So, you better not forget to sign up ahead on the National Assembly website (opening soon).

Built in 1728 by the Duchesse de Bourbon, both premises are quickly considered as the “biggest ornamentations of the city after the royal houses”.

Today, both buildings house the Chamber of Deputies and the residency of the Assembly Chairman. While the Palais underwent major alterations in the 19th century such as the creation of a “pain de sucre” [sugar loaf] roof and a twelve-column peristyle that have entirely changed its architectures, blueprints and models kept in the library allowing to better enjoy the primary style of the place, similar to the Grand Trianon.

European Heritage Days also allow us to enjoy the rooms of the Palais Bourbon and the Hotel de Lassay: from the Salle des Cinq-Cents to the Salle des Pas-Perdus, without forgetting the Hemicycle, the press box, the gardens and the lounges painted by Delacroix, the tour will delight History and power enthusiasts.
