For the 40th edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, the Château de Saint-Jean de Beauregard opens its doors to us, inviting us to discover this magnificent Renaissance monument, hidden away in the Essonne region. Join us on September 16 and 17, 2023, for a weekend of cultural visits and events that are sure to please the whole family.
Still inhabited, the château boasts the largest dovecote in the Île-de-France region, as well as an astonishing flowering kitchen garden, unique in the world for its plant diversity. The latter has been classified as a Jardin Remarquable, a label introduced in 2004 by the French Ministry of Culture to distinguish gardens and parks of cultural interest. But these are not the only assets of this historic monument!
The Château de Saint-Jean de Beauregard represents the French art of living in the 17th century, with rooms furnished to reflect the period. Billiard room, dining room, library, summer salon, green salon... Room after room, treasures are revealed, frozen in time. Once you've finished visiting the château, take a stroll through the formal gardens to admire the many flower beds.
