European Heritage Days 2021 at the Musée de l’Homme

On Saturday September 18 and Sunday September 19, 2021, the Musée de l’Homme, Paris takes part in European Heritage Days and opens its doors for free to the general public to tell us more about our ancestors and our world, through tours, and other entertainments.

For European Heritage Daysthe Musée de l’Homme welcomes us on Saturday September 18 and Sunday 19, 2021. Documentary, workshop and conference are planned for free all weekend long for curious people’s greatest joy.

Museum guides will present a theme of the Galerie de l'Homme, the museum's permanent collection.

Guided tour of the Galerie de l'Homme - Masterpiece tour - Saturday September 18 at 3 p.m.
A guided tour to discover the masterpieces of the Galerie de l'Homme, the museum's permanent collection. This guided tour - accompanied by a guide - enables to discover the entire permanent collection, mixing biology, philosophy, anthropology, and history. A good way to wonder about humans, their difficult nature, their evolutions since plural humanities appeared until nowadays, and wonder about the future.
Duration: 90 minutes

One-on-One with anthropologist Esther KatzSaturday September 18 at 5 p.m.
A new format to meet searchers from the Musée de l'Homme! At the moment, a limited number of plants and animals take over the world's global diet, taking over diversity. It will be about this very plant and animal-based food diversity. The presentation will be supported by plants grown for many culinary uses.

A family paper chase to discover some of the masterpieces of the Musée de l'Homme helped by several scientists.

Galerie de l'Homme
Helped with videos from scientists and files made by the museum, discover emblematic items of the Galerie de l'Homme, guided by searchers from the museum, and discover their job. The tour is paced with speeches and visual and sound materials from the museum-laboratory themes.
Duration: 20 minutes

In addition to these entertainments, European Heritage Days are the occasion to visit the museum devoted to Man. Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? As many questions the large 2500-sqm Galerie de l'Homme answers.

Note that the Musée de l'Homme is very coveted and you should expect to queue for quite a while.
