For European Heritage Days 2021, the Château de Champs-sur-Marne invites on September 18 and 19, 2021 you to discover rooms usually closed to the public including Madame’s drawing room and the Brie farm. As for children, they will be indulged to an open-air circus show scheduled on Sunday afternoon.

Like many historic places, the Domaine de Champs-sur-Marne takes part in European Heritage Days on September 18 and 19 to make us discover the 18th century castle, architectural gem with a rococo design and stamped furniture signing the arrival of a certain comfort in mansions over the Age of the Enlightenment.

For the 38th edition of European Heritage Days, re-discover the Gardener’s House, or Maison du Jardinier, recently renovated and open to curious people. This old house given to the master gardener of the estate was built circa 1830, and will undoubtedly remind you of Marie-Antoinette’s hamlet houses in Versailles.

And this is very exceptional. You can visit a place usually closed to the public: one of the last Brie farms in Seine-et-Marne. Come and discover the purpose of the dove coves, the cold room, horse bats and the maturing dairy.

And speaking of cheese, do not miss the Fromagerie Ganot dairy built in 1895, partnering with the Château de champs-sur-Marne this weekend to shine a light on the traditional Brie know-how. A cheese tasting session-sale will even take place in the Salon de Laiterie.

In the park, children and adults are delighted to enjoy a circus show performed by Carlo Boso’s company taking place in the park on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For athletes, an orienteering-race – hosted by the IGN sports association – takes you through a discovering and orienteering race covering 2 to 4 kilometers. On the menu, about twenty elements to discover and one ultimate enigma to solve.

Meet on Sunday for a few exclusive entertainments: a farmers’ market from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., a giant puppet parade, and an acrobatic rock show revisiting Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at 2:30 p.m.
