The Musée Carnavalet is a superb building in the heart of the Marais and devoted to the History of Paris and is simply taking part in European Heritage Days 2019. Undergoing renovations since 2016, it’s said to reopen in 2020 and the grand re-opening is very awaited by fans. But in the meantime, on September 21 and 22, 2019 you can enjoy exclusive tours.
If you’re too impatient to discover the Musée du Carnavalet after its renovation, know that 4 exceptional tours of the work sites are available on European Heritage Days weekend. Organized by the Chatillon agency, these tours are planned by time slots from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A guided tour is also planned. This year, it revolves around the theme “Il était une fois un musée au Coeur du Marais”. Before enjoying the history of Paris from its reopening, the Musée Carnavalet invites you to discover its own story. You can also discover the issues of its renovation during this 1-hour tour and I bet you’ll be all the more impatient to see it reopening! Meet at 23 rue de Sévigné at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
