European Heritage Days are the perfect occasion to discover or rediscover iconic landmarks in the city as well as those hidden! On Saturday September 17 and Sunday 18, 2022, the Maison de Balzac opens in Paris for a change of scenery in a surprising green setting with views on the Eiffel Tower. Recently renovated, this museum-home that used to be the French writer's is open for free for this exclusive cultural weekend.

This bucolic place - also housing an English café serving delicious pastries - is one of Honoré de Balzac's rare houses you can still discover today. You will find a three-story museum returning on the lief of the famous French writer, as well as the office where he corrected the entire “La Comédie Humaine” [The Human Comedy]. A go-to address for French literature fans, that is listed as historic monument.
