For this year's edition of the Journées du Patrimoine 2023, under the banner of living heritage and sports heritage, the Yvelines (78) will be opening the doors of its establishments and institutions on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2023.
This département is home to some of France's most famous monuments, including the Sun King's residence, the Château de Versailles. But this palace is not the only treasure to be discovered in the Yvelines: there are also several other châteaux and estates, unusual museums, theaters, enchanting gardens, family sites... So it's impossible to get bored in Yvelines during these Heritage Days!
This year marks the 40th edition of the Journées du Patrimoine. Not familiar with this event organized in over 50 European countries? The Journées du Patrimoine are an exceptional open house event, giving us the chance to discover museums, castles , theaters, institutions, historic businesses and religious monuments near us, free of charge. It's a cultural event that takes place on the third weekend in September, and it's always full of surprises!
The program includes guided tours, workshops and other activities that take us into the enchanting world of this great département of the Paris region, to discover the nuggets of our unique heritage.
