The Eiffel Tower and two other major Parisian monuments will be decked out in pink this Sunday, October 1, 2023, to mark the launch of Pink October. It's an opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer, before a month of fund-raising events.

To mark the launch of the 2023 edition ofOctobre Rose, the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated in pink, as it is every year. But this year, to mark the 20th anniversary of the association, theArc de Triomphe and the Assemblée Nationale will also be changing color. The lights will be on from 10pm until the Eiffel Tower is extinguished at 12:45am.

A great way to kick off this month of awareness-raising events on October 1, focusing on breast cancer and medical research. A unique event is also planned on the Champs-Élysées, to put the spotlight on patients and their families.

This event is essential for the association, which supports medical and scientific research all year round, and raises awareness of breast cancer diagnosis among women. While significant progress has been made in medical research and in improving patients' quality of life over the last few decades, it is vital to continue the fight against the disease. For the first time, the avenue des Champs-Élysées will welcome women and men affected by breast cancer, who will walk symbolically alongside researchers, doctors and carers, dressed in pink or white.

They will be accompanied by a host of celebrities, including Jenifer, who will be singing at the launch, choreographed by Mehdi Kerkouche .Evelyne Dhéliat, Claudia Tagbo and Alice Detollenaere, godmothers ofthe association and figures in the 2022 campaign, will also be present.

One woman in eight is likely to develop breast cancer during her lifetime. With this awareness-raising campaign, the Ruban Rose association is encouraging all women to undergo regular screening, in order to effectively combat this disease. Detected in time, 9 out of 10 breast cancers are cured.
