New days of action for an ecological and social justice this weekend! The movement of young on strike for the climate, "Fridays for Future" and its French branch "Youth for Climate France" are once again gathering for two days of action scheduled on Friday September 25 and Saturday 26, 2020.

As the coronavirus crisis keeps on headlining, global warming goes on relentlessly. As the Amazonia is still burning, the Arctic ice floe has reached its second lowest surface ever recorded. Two examples among others that make us fear the worst for the years to come. Therefore, youth has decided to once again step in for the climate and environomental and social justice.

The movement of young people on strike for the climate and the living “Fridays for Future” and its French branch “Youth for Climate France” host two days of actions on Friday September 25 and Saturday 26, 2020.

"As the health crisis once again shone a light on the weaknesses of our societal model, the reactions from the politic and economic authorities mostly go against the project for an ecologic society.

Facing the inaction of the politic and economic authorities, it is necessary to start tomorrow's society by ourselves (creating communal areas, taking over lands to turn them into collective kitchen gardens, opening houses for ecology and resistance...) while keeping on attacking and condemning the system with our gatherings and actions of civil disobedience.

Furthermore, justice must be able to use a genuine legal arsenal enabling to condemn companies responsible for disasters like Rouen's or Lubrizol's, and efficiently prevent risks. Therefore, the crime of ecocide seems - among the many measures proposed by the Citizen's Agreement for the Climate - one of the most urgent to implement" the release reads.

"Fridays for Future" and "Youth for Climate France" expect as many people as possible on September 25 and 26 to raise awareness and make things change.

On September 25, they call youth to gather at noon in their schools and lead debates in order to think together about the ongoing disaster and meet in the afternoon the actions proposed by the different local groups.

The day after, on September 26, will be led "different disobeying or legal actions on local resilience, against the Major Useless and Imposed Projects or the presence of SEVESO installations".

For instance, in Paris, a call for an event named "Implantons la Résistance - Camp Climat" has been launched. "We expect to take over the square and the nearby streets starting Saturday September 26, as past of World Environmental Health Day. [...] The goal of this sitting is to leave behind symbolical and pacified demonstrations that too often happen to comfort the world's current path and are unable to halt it" the organizers explain.

walk for climate in Cergy-Pontoise, Val d'Oise, is also scheduled on September 25. Youth For Climate Val d'Oise expect you all at 6 p.m. in front of Pontoise railway station.

Last but not least, according to Le Figaro, "Youth For Climate France" is planning an "intergenerational" action on November 17, organized with other movements; a date yet to be confirmed depending on the evolution of the health situation.
