Once again, there is an urgency to act against global warming and this urgency will be at the heart of the negotiations held during the upcoming yearly conference of the UN about climate changes, the famous COP25 taking place from December 2 to 13, 2019 in Santiago, Chile.
On the occasion a new call for an international movement has been launched. The International Walk for the Climate will take over several cities including Paris on Friday November 9, 2019; a few day before world climate day (December 8).
"There is not a week that goes by without talking about global warming and the consequences for the future of the planet. It is true that the situation we currently experience is bad and the few measures taken here and there are not here to restrain the phenomenon.
That being said, in the climate field like anywhere else, the over simplification does not help the reflection and a study of the planet on a very long period of time has shown an alternation of warm and glacial periods and they all have had major consequences on the survival of many animal species...
What changes today is the man' power of action has dramatically increased this past century and would it only be based on the growth of the population (we went from 1 billion humans on earth in 1900 to over 7 billion today). At the pace we are using the richness of our earth, we would need at least 3 to hope to survive longer...
It is urgent to get aware that the earth does not belong to us and we are indebted to the generations that are coming! we can read on the call to demonstrate launched by Sauvons La Planète and Mouvement Colibris.
