In early December 2018, many were disappointed to learn that Michelle Obama was canceling her European appearance. The former First Lady of the United States was indeed due to invest La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 for an exclusive conference organized by Editions Fayard and Asterios Spectacles.
However, following the death of former US President George Bush, Michelle Obama had decided to cancel her visit to Europe.
In a Tweet, Michelle Obama said: " I am extremely moved by the enthusiasm generated by my memoirs and am working to reschedule my trip for next year.
Michelle Obama will be in Paris next spring for the event " Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama ". For this new date, scheduled for Tuesday April 16, 2019, the former First Lady of the United States will take to the stage at theAccorHotels Arena.
In the form of a conversation, Michelle Obama will take the opportunity to revisit her event book"Devenir", available in all good bookshops since November 13, 2018.
It's an opportunity for the public to learn a little more about Michelle Obama's world, through the account of the experiences that have made her the woman she is today, from her childhood on Chicago's South Side through the years when she had to reconcile her life as a lawyer and mother, to the two terms spent in the White House.
"Becoming" traces the intimate journey of a woman of character who always went beyond what was expected of her.
At each stop on the tour, moderators - yet to be announced - will lead the conversation with the former First Lady.

You should also know that, to contribute to the commitment to make her events accessible to as many people as possible, Mrs. Obama and Live Nation will be donating a portion of tickets to each event in Europe to various organizations including, among others, charitable enterprises, schools, and community associations in each city visited by the tour. These fans will receive invitations to the tour stops in their city.
We recall that tickets for this event originally set for December 5, 2018 had sold out in just two days. Publisher Penguin Random House (PRH), citing specialist company NPD BookScan, said the book had sold more than two million copies in the US and Canada in just two weeks. "Becoming" has already been translated into 31 languages.
