Pollution: speed reduced by 20km/h in Paris and Ile-de-France, this Wednesday

Pollution is back in Paris and therefore speed is reduced by 20km/h in Paris and Île-de-France on several roads, and only Crit'Air 0,1 and 2 cars are allowed to run on the beltway this Wednesday. And for good reason, the PM10 particle rate has exceeded the limit thresholds! The prefect recommends to differ road trips in the area.

Careful if you are planning to take your car this Wednesday March 3, 2021, the maximum speed in Paris and Ile-de-France is reduced by 20km/h. And for good reason, the PM10 fine particle rate set between 50 and 65µg/m³ is above the 50µg/m³ threshold.

May Crit’Air 3, 4 or 5 car owners be rest assured, they can drive, it is not about differentiated traffic but only limited speed. Paris Prefect of Police recommends to differ - as much as possible - road trips in Île-de-France and work from home if possible.

Therefore, please drive at 110km/h instead of 130km/h on the highway, 90km/h instead of 110km/h on fast lanes, 70km/h instead of 80km/h or 90km/h on fast lanes, trunk roads and by- roads.

These measures will be applied as long as the occurrence of pollution lasts, you will have to remain cautious.

At the same time, residential parking is free of charge in Paris and an anti-pollution offer is available on the RATP and SNCF networks for €3.80 for the day, to encourage people to use public transit instead of their cars.
