France is in lockdown since Tuesday March 17th, 2020 midday and many of us are wondering about people in need, especially isolated sick or elderly people who cannot go out to go grocery shopping and who cannot order online.
A new initiative has been created on social networks with mass sharing of a message encourage elderly people or those in need to put a red flag, ribbon, cloth or scarf at their window to let their neighbors know they need help.
A red cloth at the window to alert neighbors, a small solidarity gesture that can bring a lot as we’re locked down, especially when you’re on your own and isolated, as it may often happen in villages and even in Paris where despite a large number of inhabitants per square meter, many people feel alone and don’t know how they can ask for help.
Keep an eye open and if you see this call for help, try and contact them by phone or knocking at the door of your neighbors to see how you can help them while respecting health instructions and safety distances.
