While the coronavirus epidemic places France into confinement, solidarity-based movements and gestures are made to help people in need, stores forced to close and doctors and medical staff on the frontline, fighting against the pandemic.

Facing the pandemic, solidarity. While France has reached stage 3 of the coronavirus epidemic, and the entire country is into lockdown, the shock of this uncommon situation leaves space to mutual aid. Gestures that lift everyone’s spirits, even confined, the will to help one another is unwavering.

Celebrations on balconies to support the hospital staff, red cloths to ask for help, solidarity-based actions show that everyone of us can take action. For instance, La Réserve offers restaurateurs to enjoy their project managers’ expertise for free to help them financially, aids and even recovery strategy.

The Île-de-France region offers to make bed in empty board schools available as schools are closed. Fashion industry also joins the fight: LVMH transforms their perfume factories into hand sanitizer producers so does L’Oréal with the brand La Roche Posay. The 1083 brand is making masks for health caregivers.
