While the epidemic keeps on spreading, with over 10,000 people hospitalized (including 2,301 in ICU), as of today, in Ile-de-France, the epidemic is said to peak circa April 6th.

The number of coronavirus victims keep on growing swiftly in Île-de-France. On April 2nd, 2020, 1571 died at the region's hospitals and 664 new patients were hospitalized, taking the total up to 10,273. There are currently 2,301 people in ICU.

According to a document from the Assistance Publique des hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), gathering 39 hospitals, released on March 31st and interviewed by Le Parisien, the coronavirus epidemic will peak "circa April 6th" in Île-de-France.

Two scenarios are considered by the AP-HP: numbers could be stable for five days - that is to say up to April 11th - or ten days, according to a second and more pessimistic option. If the latter happens, they will truly start to decrease only from April 16th.

"I'm afraid it will be a long plateau, this is what happens in Italy and our figures follow the same path with a ten-day interval" La Pitié-Salpêtrière infectious disease unit head Eric Caumes said to Le Parisien, adding it's not, according to him "a real peak".

Other regions where the epidemic hasn't peaked yet, should peak later in comparison with Ile-de-France and Grand Est.

At the time ICU units are overcrowded in Ile-de-France, everyone is living by figures to find out when the epidemic will peak and when it will start to slow down.
