After about 3 weeks of confinement and hundreds of thousands of printed out or copied out papers so that French could go out to work, run errands, help their families or walk their dogs, the derogatory trip certificate is now available in digital and on smartphone starting April 6, 2020, as announced by Secretary of the Interior Christophe Castaner.
Castaner presents then a new platform that is “simple and safe, developed by the Ministry of the Interior teams” and guarantees it’s subject to no users’ data collection by the government, and it allows to fight against fraud since the certificate is automatically timed and dated.
On pourra générer le formulaire depuis son smartphone et le présenter aux forces de l'ordre qui scanneront un QR code :— Christophe Castaner (@CCastaner) April 2, 2020

Tweet reads: “#COVID19 | After two weeks of confinement, French seized stakes and rules. In @le_Parisien, I announce the implementation of a digital certificate: a new solution, simple and safe, developed by the Ministry of the Interior teams.”
“As of Monday, we implement a digital certificate completing the paper measures. The service will be accessible online”
“The certificate can be generated from smartphone and be shown to forces of order who will scan a QR code: no users’ data collection, fight against fraud with automatic time and day of the certificate, respect of the barrier gestures thanks to the QR code.”
“A digital certificate with form available this Monday on: interieur.gouv.fr”
In concrete words, this new online service enables to fill in a form from your mobile phone or on the Ministry of the Interior website when you go out. Fill in your name, surname, date of birth and choose why you are going out. Then, the platform generates a PDF file to save on your mobile phone and on which are automatically stamped date and hour of creation along with the QR code. Then, provided you’re controlled, show the QR code generated on your mobile phone to the forces of order who can judge of the reason and know the exact time you left your confinement place.
Of course, the printed out or copied out paper certificate remains valid as long as the confinement lasts.
