Secretary of the Interior Christophe Castaner gave further details to Emmanuel Macron’s announcements explaining that deconfinement on May 11th was “not a certitude but a goal”.

While French President Emmanuel Macron gave – during his address on April 13thMay 11th as a deconfinement date in France, Secretary of the Interior Christophe Castaner wished to add details to the Head of State’s statements.

Invited this Tuesday April 14th on France Inter, Christophe Castaner explained deconfinement from May 11th was “not a certitude but a goal”.

What the French President has announced last night isn’t deconfinement on May 11th, it’s confinement up to May 11th. There are conditions to deconfine on May 11th: discipline, discipline of respecting confinement. Then, it’s the fight we have to lead together to slow down the propagation of the virus”.

And the Secretary of the Interior added that over 11,8 million controls have already been made throughout France and about 704,000 offenses have been reported since March 17th for breaking confinement.

All deconfinement conditions in France have not been explained yet by the French President or Christophe Castaner. The latter says “Government will present within two weeks a post May-11 plan and will take into account all issues. Because the truth is that right now, it’s not the one we will now in a week time. It’s on these bases, on scientific and medical bases that the government will present a precise action plan
