Coronavirus in Paris-île-de-France: only 3.6% of cases are related to clusters

How is the cluster situation in Ile-de-France? As of October 15, 2020, the Parisian region totaled 49 extra clusters. 624 clusters have been reported in the region since May 8, 2020, including 157 active clusters. To keep tracking the number of clusters in Île-de-France, keep reading.

What is the situation in Île-de-France? As the coronavirus epidemic is experiencing an increase of infections in several French regions, the search for clusters goes on to control the spread of covid-19.

In Île-de-France - one of the most hit areas in France - the amount of clusters changes daily. In order to follow the situation, every week, the Agence Régionale de Santé - the local health agency - gives us details per department as of the active clusters in the Parisian area.

Since May 8, 2020 the day the containment exit started in France, 624 clusters have been detected. As of October 15, 2020, 49 more than the week before have been reported. These clusters are mostly detected in school and university environment (27.6%) and in health facilities (19%). Out of the 624 clusters detected, 157 are still active as of October 15, 2020, that is to say 8 more than last week. Yet, only 3.6% of the cases reported between May 15 and October 11, 2020 are linked to clusters.

All in all, per department:

193 clusters have been reported in Paris (75) → 27 more than the week before
36  clusters have been reported in Seine-et-Marne (77) → 1 fewer than the week before
52 clusters have been reported in Yvelines (78) → 1 more than the week before
51 clusters have been reported in Essonne (91) → 5 more than the week before
80 clusters have been reported in Hauts-de-Seine (92) → 2 more than the week before
87 clusters have been reported in Seine-Saint-Denis (93) → 13 more than the week before
75 clusters have been reported in Val-de-Marne (94) → 8 more than the week before
50 clusters have been reported in Val d'Oise (95) → 0 more than the week before

As of Tuesday October 20, 2020, France reports 1,829 coronavirus clusters currently being investigated, including 148 new ones over 24 hours. 91 departments in 104 are position of vigilance. The entire country is on health emergency. Paris and Île-de-France, as well as 8 cities are on curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
