While the city of Paris already boasts many pharmacies, here's one that's creating quite a buzz. It has to be said that this pharmacy has the distinction of being the largest not only in the capital, but also in France, located in the city center.
To find it, head for the second basement of the Forum des Halles, in the 1st arrondissement. With its 2,050 m² of floor space, 4.5 km of shelving, 40,000 references and 340 brands in stock, it's hard to miss. To manage this gigantic flagship launched by the Pharmabest group, and welcome the 1,200 customers expected daily, 49 employees work on site!
Of the 2050 m² surface area, 1550 m² is dedicated to parapharmacy and 500 m² to prescription dispensing.
Open since September 3, this huge pharmacy is also looking to the future. Le Parisien reports, for example, that it offers three small connected rooms, right next to the numerous checkouts. Customers will soon be able to access teleconsultations, tests and vaccinations. Note that this large pharmacy of the future will also be offering a day of free tests at Covid-19 this Saturday, September 12, 2020.
So, what can we expect in this huge pharmacy? In addition to a wide range of medicines, Le Parisien reveals that there will be a large cosmetics section, including creams, lotions and make-up. Men are also entitled to their own space, with no fewer than 500 references in male cosmetics.
The daily reports that this very large pharmacy,"halfway between hypermarket, American-style drugstore and health center", also features a mini hairdressing salon in the hair department. Here, feel free to try out treatments such as hair coloring products.
A little further on, you'll find essential oils and organic products, as well as a shelf dedicated tobaby products and sports nutrition.
With all these products, the daily newspaper also points out that the average shopping basket is 40 euros, 3.5 times more than in a conventional local pharmacy.
