As the nighttime curfew starts this Saturday in Île-de-France and eight other cities in France, many people are wondering if they can take transport. As Fall break starts this weekend, is it possible to take the train or a plane in the evening during curfew? Here is the answer.

Following Emmanuel Marcon’s televised interview, Prime Minister Jean Castex gave further details as for the economic measures and modalities to implement the curfew set from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. For the record, this new restriction will start on Saturday October 17 in Île-de-France as well as eight cities in France.

The chief of the executive has detailed the different dispensations possible to travel by night in the areas concerned. Yet, each derogatory trip will have to be justified with a certificate available soon on the government’s website.

As Fall break is to start this weekend, many people are wondering if they can take the train or a plane in the evening. As for the SNCF, all trains will run as planned this weekend and all along the vacations.

Tweet reads: “#Curfew | Trips maintained this weekend and during vacations: all your trains will run as planned; your tickets remain exchangeable and refundable for free until 01/04; all measures are made to keep you safe

Yesterday, the French President said that trips between regions will not be limited.

But with the implementation of a curfew in some areas, is it still possible to travel by train or plane by night? During the October 15’s press brief, Jean Castex explained that train and plane trips are part of the possible dispensations. Therefore, you can travel if you have a train, a plane or a bus to catch said to depart or arrive from and to a city under curfew between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. To do so, you shall download the derogatory trip certificate and show your train or plane ticket to the authorities in the event you are controlled. Le Parisien newspaper says an implementation decree is ongoing.
